اليونسكو تحتفي باليوم الدولي لتداول المعلومات مع صانعي المحتوى في أربيل: نقاشات معمّقة حول الحريات الرقمية والسلام المجتمعي

أربيل – في أجواء احتفالية فكرية عميقة، وبالتزامن مع اليوم الدولي لتداول المعلومات، أقامت منظمة اليونسكو في العراق ورشة عمل مكثفة لصنّاع المحتوى الرقمي، ضمن إطار مشروع “التواصل الاجتماعي من أجل السلام” الممول من الاتحاد الأوروبي، بمشاركة أكثر من ثلاثين صانع محتوى من الجنسين.

الورشة لم تكن مجرد لقاء تقني أو تدريب اعتيادي، بل تحوّلت إلى مساحة حوار حيّة، جمعت بين الطموحات الشبابية والتجارب الواقعية، وبين الأدوات الرقمية الحديثة والمفاهيم الحقوقية المتقدمة. المشاركون ناقشوا بجرأة وعمق التحديات التي يواجهها صنّاع المحتوى في العراق والمنطقة، بدءًا من الإطار القانوني الذي يفترض ان ينظم عملهم، مرورًا بالتحديات الأخلاقية والمهنية، وصولًا إلى ظاهرة العنف الرقمي الموجّه ضد النساء عبر منصات الاتصال وتكنولوجيا المعلومات.

وقد شكّل هذا اليوم فرصة لتسليط الضوء على أهمية محو الأمية المعلوماتية والرقمية، حيث قدّمت اليونسكو للحاضرين أحدث إصداراتها في هذا المجال، إلى جانب “دليل الصحفيين لتغطية خطاب الكراهية” الذي يوفّر أدوات عملية للتعامل مع واحدة من أخطر التحديات التي تواجه الإعلاميين في العصر الرقمي. كما شارك الخبراء الإصدار الأخير لليونسكو “خفايا الشاشات”، وهو دراسة نوعية معمقة تكشف الدوافع والرؤى والتحديات التي يعيشها صنّاع المحتوى، وتضيء في الوقت ذاته على الفرص المتاحة أمامهم للارتقاء بعملهم ليكون أكثر تأثيرًا في بناء السلام وتعزيز التماسك الاجتماعي.

المشاركون بدورهم أكدوا أن هذه المناسبة لم تكن مجرد احتفال رمزي، بل محطة تأسيسية لتعزيز وعيهم بقدرتهم على ممارسة دور فاعل ومسؤول في الفضاء الرقمي، وإنتاج محتوى يوازن بين الحرية والإبداع من جهة، وبين احترام القوانين والحقوق الإنسانية من جهة أخرى.

اليونسكو، من خلال هذا النشاط، أعادت التأكيد على رسالتها الجوهرية: أن الحق في الوصول إلى المعلومات وتداولها بحرية هو حجر الأساس لأي مجتمع ديمقراطي، وأن الإعلام الرقمي وصناعة المحتوى يمثلان اليوم جسرًا استراتيجيًا نحو السلام والتنمية المستدامة.

وهكذا، لم يكن الاحتفاء في أربيل مجرد تخليد ليوم عالمي، بل خطوة عملية لترسيخ ثقافة رقمية مسؤولة، تُعزز الحوار وتواجه خطاب الكراهية، وتفتح أمام الشباب العراقي آفاقًا جديدة لإبداع يتجاوز الحدود ويُسهم في بناء مستقبل أكثر عدلًا وسلامًا.

UNESCO led celebration of the International Day for Universal Access to Information with Digital Content Creators in Erbil: In-depth Discussions on Digital Freedoms and Social Peace

UNESCO spearheaded an intensive workshop in Erbil for digital content creators to mark the International Day for Universal Access to Information, as part of the “Social Media for Peace” project funded by the European Union. The event brought together more than thirty male and female creators.

The workshop went beyond technical training, becoming a dynamic space for dialogue—blending youthful ambitions with real-world experiences, and bridging modern digital tools with advanced human rights concepts. Participants engaged in candid discussions on challenges faced by content creators in Iraq and the region, including the legal framework governing their work, ethical and professional dilemmas, and the urgent issue of digital violence targeting women through communication and information technologies.

The occasion also highlighted the importance of media and information literacy. UNESCO shared its latest global publications on the subject, including the ‘Journalists’ Handbook on Covering Hate Speech,’ a practical guide to tackling one of the most pressing threats in the digital sphere. Experts further shared insights from UNESCO’s recent study, “Behind the Screens,” which explores the motivations, perspectives, and challenges of content creators, while also pointing to opportunities for strengthening their role in promoting peace and social cohesion.

Participants emphasized that the event was not a symbolic commemoration but a foundation for raising awareness of their pivotal role in shaping a responsible digital space—where freedom and creativity are balanced with respect for laws and human rights.

Through this initiative, UNESCO reaffirmed its core message: the right to access and freely exchange information is a cornerstone of democratic societies. Digital media and content creation today stand as strategic bridges toward peace and sustainable development.

The commemoration in Erbil was therefore more than an international observance; it was a concrete step toward embedding a culture of responsible digital engagement—one that fosters dialogue, counters hate speech, and empowers young Iraqis to create content that transcends boundaries and contributes to building a more just and peaceful future.
