اليونسكو تحتفي باسبوع محو الامية المعلوماتية: بغداد تُقدّم ترشيحها للانضمام إلى شبكة اليونسكو العالمية لمدن التربية الإعلامية والمعلوماتية

بغداد، العراق - قدّمت أمانة بغداد، من خلال قسم البيوت الثقافية التابعة لها، رسميًا ملف ترشيح العاصمة للانضمام إلى مبادرة اليونسكو لمدن التربية الإعلامية والمعلوماتية، مُمثّلةً بذلك إنجازًا بارزًا في جهود العراق الرامية إلى تعزيز الشمول الرقمي والتفكير النقدي والوعي الثقافي في عصر المعلومات.

يأتي هذا الإنجاز بعد قرابة عامين من الجهود المشتركة بين أمانة بغداد، وقطاع الاتصالات والمعلومات، ومكتب اليونسكو في العراق، حيث عملوا معًا لإعداد ترشيح بغداد كمدينة رائدة في مجال التربية الإعلامية والمعلوماتية. ويتزامن هذا التقديم مع الأسبوع العالمي للتربية الإعلامية والمعلوماتية واليوم العالمي للمدن، تحت شعار: "مدن التربية الإعلامية والمعلوماتية: ربط المجتمعات من خلال المعلومات والثقافات".

سيُقام الحدث الدولي للمدن المعنية بمحو الأمية الإعلامية والمعلوماتية، الذي تنظمه اليونسكو وشركاؤها، يوم الاثنين الموافق 27 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2025، في إطار الاحتفال العالمي الذي يربط بين يوم المدن العالمي (31 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول) وأسبوع محو الأمية الإعلامية والمعلوماتية العالمي (24-31 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول). وسيُسلط هذا الحدث الضوء على كيفية دمج المدن حول العالم لمحو الأمية الإعلامية والمعلوماتية، والثقافة، والتعليم، والابتكار الرقمي في سياساتها الحضرية، بما يتماشى مع أهداف التنمية المستدامة للأمم المتحدة (الأهداف 4.7 و11 و16).

من خلال انضمامها إلى هذه الشبكة العالمية، تسعى بغداد إلى ترسيخ مكانتها كمدينة رائدة إقليميًا في تعزيز الثقافة الإعلامية والمعلوماتية، مُستفيدةً من تراثها الثقافي الغني ومنظومتها البيئية الناشئة للابتكار الرقمي. تهدف هذه المبادرة إلى تمكين المجتمعات المحلية من استخدام المعلومات والتكنولوجيا لبناء السلام، والمشاركة المدنية، والتنمية الحضرية المستدامة.

هذا وقد اقامت امانة بغداد واليونسكو تجمعا لنخب متخصصة في بيت الجواهري التراثي في بغداد، حيث تم التسليم الرسمي لملف ترشيح بغداد برنامج اليونسكو المعني، ويجسد هذا الحدث التزام العراق ببناء مجتمع رقمي مُستنير، شامل، وقادر على الصمود.

Baghdad, Iraq – The Baghdad Municipality, through its Department of Cultural Houses, has officially submitted the capital’s nomination file to join the UNESCO Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Cities Initiative, marking a significant milestone in Iraq’s ongoing efforts to advance digital inclusion, critical thinking, and cultural awareness in the information age.

This achievement comes after nearly two years of joint efforts between the Baghdad Municipality, the Communications and Information Sector, and the UNESCO Office for Iraq, who have worked together to prepare Baghdad’s nomination as a leading city in the field of media and information literacy. The submission coincides with Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week and World Cities Day, under the theme:“MIL Cities: Connecting Communities through Information and Cultures.”

The International Event of Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Cities, organized by UNESCO and its partners, will take place on Monday, 27 October 2025, as part of the global celebration linking World Cities Day (31 October) and Global MIL Week (24–31 October). The event will highlight how cities around the world are integrating media and information literacy, culture, education, and digital innovation into their urban policies — in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4.7, 11, and 16).

By joining this global network, Baghdad aims to establish itself as a regional leader in advancing media and information literacy, drawing on its rich cultural heritage and its emerging ecosystem of digital innovation. The initiative seeks to empower local communities to utilize information and technology for peacebuilding, civic participation, and sustainable urban development.

On this occasion, the Baghdad Municipality and UNESCO hosted a gathering of experts and cultural figures at the Jawahiri Heritage House in Baghdad, where the official handover of Baghdad’s nomination file to the relevant UNESCO programme took place. The event symbolizes Iraq’s strong commitment to building an informed, inclusive, and resilient digital society.
